The crane arm which opens and closes it is not strong enough, but everything else is ok!
I bought this for my nephew as an alternative to Lego and even he said I should have just bought Lego. The solar panel does not work despite leaving it to soak up sunlight for a day and we also tried the light type in the manual. The hydraulic would not hold water and when we put the entire thing together it did not work. Very disappointed is an understatement. I am sorry I purchased this.
This toy was a perfect step up from the typical robotics found in toy stores. Fully building the gear boxes and integrating the motor controls added more interest and complexity. The pieces fit together well and the arm fully works! This was independently completed by my 9 year old. I would recommend this for kids that have out grown the more generic kits 😁
Says for age 10 years old plus no way could my 11 year old could build this after hours of assembly it didn’t work as described it would open and turn one way but would not close or go back the other way even as a adult I don’t understand how does one motor go forwards and revers without a switch or turning the batteries around can you please explain ? There’s no gear box to allow this either now I have a 11 year old in tears as it was a Christmas gift and now in the bin not impressed at all don’t waste your money or time on this
Our 12 year old had fun with this kit, so far he has made one of the boat projects. He really enjoyed putting it together, the only thing he asked for help with was folding the boat portion as the instructions weren't very intuitive. However I'm sure he would have figured it out himself.
